How to Process Emotions & Grief Without Binge or Stress Eating

 

 

Most of the methods that led me to win awards across health, fitness & performance have come from coaching myself & others to break through real-life obstacles, not from a science-based guideline or textbook.

Today is one of those moments where my own hardship is an excellent example.

Recently, I was given terrible news. Many women in my life share that they too are coping with incredible stress, sadness, grief or worry.

I wanted to share how I'm dealing with my life-changing event not as a scientist, but as a human.

I know many other women, especially as we age, face similar challenges. Life isn't easy. However, in sharing transparently how I'm coping, I hope that you too can see how no obstacle, terrible human, or life challenge can bring you down!

To recap, that's:

  • Give yourself grace to let your version of "ugly" out, but put a timer on it.
  • Choose to use your pain & grief for purpose.
  • Do not let terrible people in this world bring out the terrible in you. Instead, relentlessly refuse to give them any more power over your health & well-being.
  • You are fully capable of being a light within your darkness. In fact, the world needs you now more than ever! Ask yourself how you can show up as a source of light & stand taller than ever as a force for good.

The Bottom-line Is: Even the ugliest of obstacles have a glimmer of opportunity if we choose to find it.
